Nice meeting you today at our appengine meeting. My birthday is May 21st, so I think we are one day off, and I turned 33!

Re: Turning 30

In college, Thoreau was one of my favorite authors though now I don't remember what I read. Lynn and I made it a point to find Walden's Pond when we were in Massachusetts to see Dane in a play. We were shocked at the tiny little cabin where Thoreau did his writing.

Re: Turning 30

Happy Birthday! In another 14 years, you can talk to be about getting old LOL

Re: Turning 30

True, it does take expensive gear, but I think there is a lot of camera and motorcycle gear that I never really needed or don't need any longer. How many backpacks and jackets do I really need? I wish I wasn't so lazy and was more motivated to sell things on ebay & craigslist.

Re: Turning 30

RE Thoreau on working just to survive and just be happy with the rest of your free time: I think spending free time is much more expensive these days. Look at our hobbies - traveling, sewing, photograhy... They all take really expensive gear. And though I get the overall point and I agree that society today is excessive, I don't really ever imagine seeing it decrease. Though, if you want me to return your gifts, I can. (smirk) But I know what you mean. Though Thankful, I felt that excessivity at Christmas-time.
