I assumed you built it yourself at first.. :D Guessing around $160 total.

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

Just wondering, how much did it cost you to build that thing?

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

so are you going to build a mesh network with that?

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

Chris,
Nothing in the docs about any special things required for installing the OS on the CF card... it expects that to be already loaded, apparently.

Found this through a Google search for a Linux on CF install, I found this among others:
http://www.chriscoughlin.com/c...

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

My Linksys WRT54G ($50-75) with the Sveasoft firmware ($20 for a year's worth of updates) does traffic shaping just fine. :) This looks like a nifty project base though.

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

Maybe I'm a little slow, but how will you get the OS on it? It doesn't look like you can hook up a CD drive... I assume the OS goes on the CF card, but how do you do the initial install?

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

I agree, WARP does seem like a cooler name for it :-)

Nice toy, though... now I'm debating pulling something like that together to replace the mini-tower that I'm currently using for a router. I wouldn't have a use for the wireless side of it (already have an access point with a signal booster), but the 3 LAN ports... yeah... I could put those to use.

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

<img src="http://www4.ncsu.edu/~rhlong/iproduct.gif">

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

Ya, it's because of the antispam modifications I made to WordPress. I'm going to have to take some time soon and upgrade to WordPress 1.4 to get rid of my kludge.

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

Found the answer to my question, it's actually a Wireless Router Application Platform. BTW, your blog doesn't remember people anymore - I have to type in my info new each time.

Re: New Toy: WRAP 1C-2

If it's a Wireless Access Router Platform, shouldn't it be called WARP for short?
