I think Berlin had one of the nicest and most expansive transit systems I had ever used, even with the S-Bahn being closed for maintenance. It was amazing to see just how large the city was (about the same surface area as Atlanta), while it still had a good balance of transportation options. It's denser than Atlanta, but I did not see any skyscrapers either.

I think the funniest comments I got was when my german team-mates would refer to their managers or coworks as "Oh, he's VERY german". IE, efficient and one who doesn't try to enjoy things too much.

We'll stop by Vienna, but the eastern-most destination is Budapest.

when we went to Berlin- it was the same for us. It reminded us of american cities.
once we figured out the system for transit it wasnt too bad in Berlin. hope you understand it there quickly!

Yuk! (about the pigeon poo). But I'm so glad you're enjoying Germany! I love it too :-) And yes the efficiency is a breath of fresh air after Brussels for sure !!!! Sounds like you've got a fabulous trip planned, all the way to Vienna, right? Ellie
